TIME OFF Important Notes to Remember • Employees begin accruing PTO on their first day of employment. • The combined PTO-Core/PTO-Sick maximum accrual cap is 440 hours. • Your current PTO accumulation is shown on your paycheck stub and in UKG. • PTO-Core may be used for incidental sick time only when the PTO-Sick bank is exhausted. PTO-Sick may be used for personal time only when the PTO-Core bank is exhausted. • If you end your employment with Scripps, your accumulated PTO-Core and PTO-Sick will be cashed out and paid to you at departure. How It Works All full-time and part-time benefit-eligible employees earn PTO based on an accrual rate into two banks, PTO-Core and PTO-Sick. PTO-Core is paid time off for vacation, legal and personal holidays, personal and family needs, and emergencies. PTO-Sick is paid time off when sick or for treatment, medical diagnosis or preventive care. You accrue PTO hours based on the number of eligible hours worked each pay period up to a full-time equivalent (80 hours), your length of service, and your position at Scripps.
