70 RETIREMENT SAVINGS Retiree 401(h) Healthcare Savings Account The Retiree 401(h) Healthcare Savings Account, also known as the 401(h) account, helps you plan for retirement by allowing you to save for the cost of post-retirement healthcare expenses. A key advantage of this account is that distributions you take at retirement for reimbursement of healthcare expenses for you, your spouse, or your dependents are tax-free. If you participate in the Scripps Health 401(a) Retirement Savings Plan, you may allocate a portion of your current year employee after-tax and employer contributions to your 401(h) account on an annual basis. Funds accumulated in the Retiree Health Insurance Savings Account are to be used solely to reimburse post-retirement healthcare expenses. The 401(h) account can be an efficient means of saving for the cost of post-retirement healthcare expenses, but there are significant restrictions. Please review the features and restrictions carefully prior to enrolling.
